WHY WE DO THIS: REAL STORIES, REAL PEOPLE, AND THE CASE FOR HARM REDUCTION

---

*A note from Nicholas J. Pants, CEO:*

*I'm a Maltese. I run a kratom company. These two facts are not related, but people seem to find the combination memorable. What I want to talk about today isn't funny, though. It's why this company exists. Not the business plan. Not the profit margins. The actual reason we wake up, fill jars, print labels, and ship packages from a small house in South Florida. It's the people. And their stories deserve to be heard -- even if they'd rather stay anonymous. So I'll let my human take it from here.*

## This Isn't About Selling You Something

If you landed here looking for a sales pitch, you're in the wrong place. We sell kratom -- good kratom, lab-tested kratom -- but this post isn't about that. This is about the people who buy it and why they buy it. Because their reasons matter more than our margins.

We're a small family business. One guy, one dog, and a packing table in Lake Worth, Florida. We don't have a marketing department. We don't have investors. What we have is a growing community of people who trust us enough to share their stories -- sometimes in reviews, sometimes in late-night texts, sometimes in emails that make us put down what we're doing and just sit with it for a minute.

We're going to share some of those stories here. Names changed, details kept vague where needed. But the experiences are real. Every one of them.

## "I Haven't Touched Hard Drugs in Over Four Years"

One of our community members -- a woman, a mother -- spent years in active addiction. She lost her home. She lost custody of her kids. She couldn't hold a job for more than a few weeks at a time.

She found kratom tea. Not through a doctor. Not through a program. Through sheer desperation and a willingness to try anything that wasn't going to kill her.

Four years later, she has her children back. She works full time -- same job, four years running. She's working on a master's degree in psychology. She credits kratom with giving her the stability to rebuild everything she'd lost.

Her husband wasn't as fortunate. He passed away from a fentanyl overdose after they were both removed from a rehabilitation program -- for possessing kratom leaf powder. They were told to leave. They relapsed that night. He didn't wake up the next morning.

Read that again. A man died because a rehab facility treated a plant like a crime.

## "I Don't Reach for the Ice Pack Anymore"

Another member of our community is a 62-year-old veteran. He deals with arthritis flare-ups that used to stop him in the middle of whatever he was doing. His routine was ice packs, Icy Hot, Voltaren gel, and restless naps hoping something would kick in.

He tried kratom as a sample. His exact words: it was "a well-balanced remedy" that let him keep going with his day without the pharmaceutical carousel. He's been a loyal customer ever since -- and one of the most genuinely kind human beings we've ever had the privilege of knowing.

He didn't find kratom through an ad. He found it through community. Through people talking honestly about what works.

## "The Most Euphoric Green I've Had in Nine Years"

Not every story is about pain or addiction. Some people use kratom the way others use coffee -- as part of a daily routine that helps them feel balanced, focused, and functional.

One of our longtime supporters has used kratom daily for nearly a decade. He's tried dozens of vendors. When he found our Super Green Malay, he said it was the best green he'd had in all that time. That's not marketing copy. That's a guy with nine years of daily experience telling us we got it right.

That kind of feedback doesn't come from flashy packaging or influencer deals. It comes from quality leaf and honest sourcing.

## "Float High, Land Soft"

One of our reviewers described our Super Green Malay with a phrase we might need to put on a label: "Float high, land soft."

He described a smooth onset, clean energy, a mood boost without jitters, lasting 4-5 hours with a gentle comedown. No crash. No edge. Just balance.

He took photos of the product. He signed his review with his name. He told strangers on the internet to buy from us. Not because we asked him to. Because he wanted to.

That's what real product quality creates -- people who voluntarily become your biggest advocates.

## The Prohibition Parallel

If any of this feels familiar, it should. We've been here before as a society.

They banned alcohol in the 1920s. It didn't stop people from drinking -- it just pushed it underground, created a black market, and made everything more dangerous. When prohibition ended, the sky didn't fall. People just went back to having a beer after work.

They spent decades demonizing cannabis. Entire communities were destroyed by enforcement of laws that are now being reversed state by state. Today you can buy cannabis legally in most of the country. The plant didn't change. The politics did.

Now we're watching the same pattern play out with kratom. A plant that's been used for centuries in Southeast Asia. A plant that peer-reviewed research has shown contains complex alkaloids that interact with the body in ways we're still studying. A plant that millions of Americans use daily without incident.

And yet -- some states are trying to ban it. Not the extracts. Not the synthetic concentrates. The leaf itself.

It's worth noting: we do NOT sell extracts or concentrates. We sell whole leaf powder, lab tested by Murray-Brown Laboratories for alkaloid content, heavy metals, and pathogens. There is a meaningful difference between whole leaf kratom and concentrated extracts like 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) products. That distinction matters, and it's one the regulatory conversation often ignores.

## What Harm Reduction Actually Means

Harm reduction isn't a slogan. It's a principle. It means meeting people where they are and giving them safer options. It means acknowledging that people are going to make choices about what they put in their bodies -- and that those choices should be informed, not criminalized.

It means a veteran with arthritis should have the right to try a plant before resigning himself to pharmaceuticals with side effects longer than the benefits.

It means a mother in recovery should be able to use kratom tea without getting kicked out of rehab.

It means you -- whoever you are, whatever you're dealing with -- should have access to transparent, lab-tested, honestly sourced botanicals from people who actually care about what they're selling you.

That's what Dirty Paws is. That's why we exist.

---

## Why Transparency Matters

Here's something most kratom vendors won't tell you: a lot of them don't test their product. Or they test once and slap that Certificate of Analysis on everything they sell for the next six months. Or they buy the cheapest Indonesian leaf they can find and put it in pretty packaging with made-up strain names.

We test every batch. Every single one. Through Murray-Brown Laboratories -- an independent, third-party lab. We test for mitragynine content, heavy metal contamination, and microbial pathogens. Our Certificates of Analysis are available because we have nothing to hide.

If your vendor can't show you a lab report, ask yourself why.

## This Is Bigger Than Us

We're one small business in South Florida. We're not going to change federal policy. We're not going to single-handedly shift public opinion on kratom.

But we can do this: we can show up every day, sell a clean product, tell the truth, and treat our customers like family instead of transactions. We can share their stories -- with their permission and their anonymity protected -- so that the next person searching for answers at 2 AM knows they're not alone.

If you're reading this and you've been helped by kratom -- whether it's chronic pain, recovery, daily wellness, or just getting through the day -- your story matters. You don't have to shout it from the rooftops. But know that there are people out here building something for you.

We're Dirty Paws. We're not going anywhere.

And neither is this plant.
